
Billie Wilson is a writer-wife-mother-grandmother. Born in Indiana farm country in 1941, she has lived in Juneau, Alaska, since 1962. Her non-haiku poetry has appeared in several magazines and anthologies, and she has also published many inspirational articles in small magazines. Billie is a member of the Haiku Society of America, the Alaska Haiku Society, the World Haiku Association, and the World Haiku Club. Billie's haikai have done well in a few contests recently: In 2001, she earned the First Prize in the HSA's Gerald Brady Memorial Award for Senryu (2001); a Highly Commended in the BHS James W. Hackett International Haiku Award (2001); James W. Hackett Personal Haiku Selection, World Haiku Review (May 2001); and Certificate for Merit, Japan Society on Water Environment (2001).
