biography

In 1998, Haruko Shibai was a board member of Yokohama International Women's Club and organized a workshop of haiku in English. She invited Carmen Sterba as an instructor. Since then she has been making haiku in English.

About 2 years ago, she moved into a small village in Nagano, for her husband's job. Now she lives on the campus of Shinsyu Univercity and volunteers to teach the Japanese language to those foreign students who are now on masters course, doctoral course and post-doctoral course.
