Martin Cohen was born in the South Bronx somewhere on Simpson Street. After three years of life had gone by, his parents took him to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They lived in the only six story building of the Jacob Riis projects . All the other buildings were much higher. Their backyard was Con Edison at the end of 14th Street and F.D.R. Drive. Martin went to a Yeshiva on East Broadway and Canal Street, M. T. J., until he was confirmed. After Martin's Bar-Mitzvah, they moved again and he lived in the South of Brooklyn, the South of Long Island, The Southern Tier of Upstate New York, The South of Manhattan, and finally to South Jersey in Egg Harbor. haiku (in haiga): "ocean swell" - previously unpublished
