biography

Michael Dylan Welch has been writing haiku since 1976. Originally from England, he now lives in the San Francisco area in California. He is editor and publisher of Press Here haiku books and of Tundra: The Journal of the Short Poem. For information on Press Here books, please email WelchM-at-aol.com.

In 1991 Michael cofounded the Haiku North America haiku conference, and in 1996 he co-founded the American Haiku Archives at the California State Library in Sacramento. He is currently president of the Tanka Society of America.

contests & awards

Michael has placed first in both the Henderson and Brady contests from the Haiku Society of America, and his haiku have been published in many journals and anthologies in several countries.
