Zolo has been enjoying haiku for over 30 years, and painting and writing verse all his life since at least kindergarten. He has a couple of academic degrees, and was an English teacher for several years. For 15 years he was the president of a seminar company specializing in test preparation workshops, and travelled a lot of miles in that time. Now he spends a good bit of time putting together artshows, teaching haiku painting, and smoking cigars. Zolo's haiga can be viewed online at his gallery, a show published by Brooks Books, and in issues of HAIGA Online. Zolo was chosen as featured poet for the POET PROFILE in the February issue of Aha magazine online. Zolo is especially honored to be the first artist to conduct haiku/haiga workshops in state prisons on an ongoing basis. (see Poet Profile for details). Zolo was recently awarded the cover of the yearly publication (volume 2) American Haibun & Haiga, published by Red Moon Press. review: "Thunderbolt by Takatoshi Gotoh" - previously unpublished haiga (David Cobb haiku): "the full moon" - previously unpublished haiga (Issa haiku): "Beautiful!" - previously unpublished
