Christopher Patchel
former editor, North America
Christopher Patchel is a graphic designer by profession and a lover of the arts in general. He grew up in the Brandywine Valley near Chadds Ford, with landscapes one finds in the paintings of Andrew Wyeth who lived nearby. The past 25 years he has be kicking around the Chicagoland area, though every winter he wonders why.
His obsession with reading and writing haiku began around 2000 when he first encountered it, and in recent years he has become increasingly interested in the linked forms of haiga, haibun and rengay. His work can be found in journals like The Heron’s Nest, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, and Acorn, and he was featured in A New Resonance 3: Emerging Voices in English-Language Haiku.
In April 2010, Christopher joined haijinx quarterly as editor for North America for the 2010 issue.
